Santa Monica, CA (February 13, 2008) — Baker has announced the promotion of Kate Rivinus to VP, Creative Director, effective immediately.
“I am pleased to recognize Kate for her level of contribution, creative leadership and dedication to our clients and firm,” said Gary Baker, President and Executive Creative Director. In her new role, Kate will oversee creative operations and will continue to provide leadership in brand strategy, team building and exceeding client objectives.
Kate has over ten years experience in the creation and development of brands, identity systems, corporate communications, interactive media and annual reports. She has led projects for global organizations including: Allergan, Capital Group, Cephalon, Disney ABC, IHOP, KB Home, Occidental Petroleum, Qualcomm, Watson Pharmaceuticals, WellPoint, WellPoint Foundation and UCLA.
Kate’s most recent projects for Baker have included a new brand identity and website for the specialty pharmaceutical leader, Allergan, an employee engagement program for Disney ABC and a company overview for Qualcomm. The later project, a reworking of the company’s traditional annual report, has been selected by Mohawk Paper to be included in their 2008 Corporate Kit, a review of best practice in corporate collateral.
Prior to joining Baker, Kate worked for several Los Angeles based firms and as a marketing director for specialty retail. Her work has been cited for excellence by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Print Magazine, the League of American Communications Professionals and IR Web Reports in their 2007 list, “Great Annual Report Designers.”
Kate has a B.A. in art history from Tulane University and a B.F.A. in graphics and packaging from Art Center College of Design. She has been a guest speaker at Art Center and related industry symposiums.
